Purchasing
Your Home
The
purchase agreement and various addenda constitute the
legal understanding regarding the purchase of your new
home. Please read the purchase agreement and all attachments
carefully. Once all paperwork is signed, we suggest
you insert those documents in this manual.
Making
Changes to Existing Plans
Please
note that if changes are desired, the following timelines
must be followed:
Foundation
and framing changes - The Builder Representative should
be informed of any foundation or framing changes you
wish to make prior to or during the Pre-Construction
Meeting.
Paint,
paper, stain, tile, and carpet changes - Please inform
your Builder Representative of these changes prior to
or during the Rough-In Meeting.
Cabinet,
electrical, plumbing, HVAC, countertop, lighting, appliance,
or trim changes - All changes to the above components
must be relayed to the Builder Representative prior
to or during the roofing stage of construction.
Interior
Design Selection Sheets
The
"Design Selections" section of this manual
will assist you in the exciting process of personalizing
your new home with the selections you will make with
the Interior Designer. It is important that you make
and submit your selections to the Builder Representative
as specified in this manual. Delays in making these
selections can affect your final close and move-in date.
Pre-Construction
Meeting
The
pre-construction meeting provides you the opportunity
to get acquainted with your Builder Representative and
to discuss the overall building process. You will also
make decisions regarding cabinetry, appliances, hardwood
floors, and miscellaneous items. You should allow approximately
one to two hours for this meeting.
Construction
of Your Home
We
invite you to tour your new home during construction.
Please read the "Construction" section of
this manual for guidelines on safety, security, and
work in progress.
Rough-In
Meeting
You
will again have the opportunity to meet with your Builder
Representative at this stage of construction. This will
occur after rough-in is complete, but prior to installation
of sheet rock. At this meeting, you will have the opportunity
to talk with your Builder Representative about any questions
or concerns you may have. Most concerns are more easily
addressed before sheet rock is installed. This meeting
should require one-half to one hour of your time.
Homeowner
Orientation
The
homeowner orientation has two purposes. The first is
to demonstrate the features of your home and discuss
maintenance and our limited warranty program. Equally
important, we want to confirm that we will deliver your
new home at the quality level shown in our model home,
and with all of your selections correctly installed.
For detailed information, please review the section
title "Orientation". This meeting will take
approximately two hours.
Turn-Over
Walk-Through
This
final meeting with your Builder Representative is a
chance for you to confirm that all repairs discussed
during the orientation have been completed. Plan on
approximately one hour for this walk-through.
Caring
for Your Home
Many
of your responsibilities as an owner and Acuff Homes
Co., Inc.'s responsibilities under the terms of our
limited warranty are discussed in the "Maintenance/Warranty"
section of your manual. Begin now to become familiar
with the home maintenance you should provide and our
warranty service commitment to you.
Your
Feedback and Suggestions
Our
desire to maintain open communication with you extends
through the buying process and after your move-in. In
an effort to improve the product and service we provide,
we welcome your comments on how we've performed. Our
goal is to build the best home and the best customer
relationship possible. Your feedback helps us reach
that goal.
